Maternity dashboard performance monitoring tool

Developed by RCOG this "score card" provides a straightforward visual
means of assessing trends and perfomrnace of a matenrity unit against
criteria and objectives they set fro themselves. This can help identify
patient safety issues an advance and provides a useful quick summary of
performance for MSLCs, Boards and team discussions. It has been widely
circulated and publicsed and forms a part of the Royal Colleges' Maternity
Standards publication

LSA Midwifery reports

Every year LSA Midwifery Officers must prepare and submit to the NMC a report on maternity services within their coverage area, which provide a rich source of comparative data and governance issues. These areas are aligned to SHAs in England, and reports can usually be found by logging on to your local SHA website or http://www.nmc-uk.org/aArticle.aspx?ArticleID=2438

Maternity Access and Advocacy Pack

Global health charity Medact are distributing the Maternity Access and Advocacy Pack, a picture-based resource that aims to improve access to maternity services. The pack is designed for use by community organisations and was developed in close partnership with user groups from diverse ethnic communities. Medact are distributing 20,000 copies free of charge to community groups. Boxes of 40 copies are available on request to statutory and voluntary organisations, which can be distributed in their area. Medact is also conducting train-the-trainer workshops aimed at individuals who will promote the resource amongst community groups in their area.
