Here are some top tips that we generated at certain phases, events and through reports.
Phase 1 learning (preparation and launch)
- Transparency and clarity required in relation to resources – financial and other support
- Lack of clarity on resources can raise expectations leading to tension and difficulties with engagement
- Important to identify what resources are available locally at the start of the programme including an economic evaluation of the cost to run the programme
- Improvement process should be a part of what is happening locally anyway
- Process and outcomes of workstreams must be identified before resources are allocated to them
Learning event
- Investment sends a “value message”
- Expectations are fully managed –“what is the minimum amount required to start the process?”
Highlight Reports
- Full use of existing processes maximises capacity
- Time will be an essential component of forming an effective partnership
- Ensure PCT involvement and buy-in to workstreams
- Affordability is a key part of planning.
