Programme Planning
Benefits
- Ensures how the programme will be delivered is clearly set out, with the timescales and corresponding resources required.
What MHIP did
The MHIP programme was planned in general terms by splitting the programme into key phases (Setting up a programme, preparation and launch, diagnosis and solution design and implementation) and identifying what needed to happen in each phase and the timescales.
A launch event was held by each MHIP pilot site, where aims and outcomes of the MHIP programme were identified. The work needed to achieve those aims was then planned in detail, breaking it up into different workstreams.
The MHIP programme was managed by an adapted PRINCE2 approach, using various project documentation. These were all prepared in this phase. See examples of project documentation templates used by South Staffordshire, which were developed in conjunction with people that use services:
- Project initiation document
- Project schedule
- Change log
- Issues log
- Risks log
- Outcomes realisation review
