What MHIP did
As outlined in Establishing leadership, a MHIP National Programme Director, MHIP National Programme Lead and Pilot Site Programme Leads were appointed to lead the delivery of the programme and pilot sites.
Other key roles in the programme were also established:
- One member of the NIMHE national service development team was assigned to support each pilot site.
- A Client Manager was assigned to each pilot site from their local NIMHE Regional Development Centre; who was pivotal in the interface between the pilot sites and the national team
- Each pilot site was also given access to one of the NHS Modernisation Agency’s Data Analysts for the first year of the programme.
Throughout the programme, local pilot sites then utilised existing staff or employed other staff to work on MHIP. The number of staff dedicated to varied however all pilot sites had, as a minimum a Programme Lead and the support of a Partnership Steering Group.
