The Social Work Development Partnership Board offers the opportunity to apply for funding for Practice Learning

The Social Work Development Partnership Board would like to work with employers in national organisations that deliver social work, towards their objective in 2009/2010 of increasing the availability and quality of statutory practice learning (placements that give students experience of social workers exercising duties and powers)

It would like to encourage national employers to increase statutory practice learning provided in non-local authority settings. It is also ‘testing out' with employers the impact of a proposed revision of the definition of statutory practice learning by seeking additional data and information. National organisations are invited to complete a statement of intent form to receive financial support for these activities.

National organisation which do not directly provide statutory placements, but provide placements that offer students good preparation to undertake statutory practice placements in the future may also make an application.

For more information about this opportunity please view the briefing. If you have any questions please contact email swd@skillsforcare.org.uk. The closing date for applications is the 10th July 2009.
