The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has published 2 further commissioning guides and updated the existing twenty-five guides to help the NHS in England effectively commission evidence-based care for patients.

The two new commissioning guides are underpinned by NICE clinical guidelines and cover:

• Service for the treatment and management of schizophrenia in adults
• Service for the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis in adults

Also recently published is the How to use NICE guidance to commission high-quality services, which supports
commissioners to develop systems and processes that embed NICE guidance into commissioning.
