The NHS East of England is inviting LINks' members in the East of England to submit applications to sit on its ten Clinical Programme Boards.
The Clinical Programme Boards are responsible for driving forward change, encouraging innovation and monitoring progress. They meet bi-monthly, for approximately 3 hours, and have representation from leading clinicians, NHS professionals and stakeholders from across the region. What is currently lacking, in some but not all Clinical Programme Boards, is patient and public involvement. The NHS East of England would therefore like LINks' members to become members of the Boards. LINks members already sitting on Clinical Programme Boards will continue to do so.
The benefit for LINks' will be to have a seat at the top table of the region's NHS, to be able to influence decisions that will affect the future of the health service in our region and to be able to share information with LINks'.
Interested? Read the invite letter and role description for more information.
The process moving forward is for people to express their interest in being involved in the Boards. This will involve people submitting a simple letter of interest, stating which Programme Board they would like to sit on and giving brief examples of their experience against the requirements of the role description. Interested people will have to be proposed/supported and seconded by colleagues from their local LINk. All correspondence should be sent to karen.fowle@eoe.nhs.uk by 26th June 2009.
The Regional LINks' Members/Peoples Network will then work with Jim Bewsher (Interim Head of Communications, NHS East of England) to coordinate a small panel to allocate nominees to roles looking to balance peoples' interests, knowledge and experience whilst also aiming for a balanced distribution of roles across the nine LINks' of the East of England.
