Wendy Toomey is an experienced Senior Manager with a strong Adult Social Care and Disabilities knowledge-base gained over 20yrs, in a range of permanent senior public sector appointments. During this time Wendy has became known for the development of award winning innovative services, from community equipment services (ICES award) to supported employment services (ACE award).

Originally specialising in sensory impairment, over the years Wendy's portfolio developed to include all mainstream disability services and services for older people.

Wendy has particular expertise in facilitating and delivering change; leading adult and older peoples social care services to improved service quality and performance standards, decommissioning out of date services, planning, designing and commissioning, new outcome based high performing services. Wendy is renowned and respected for her successful partnership working.

More recently Wendy has applied her expertise to the National Transition Support Programme for which she fulfils the specialist advisor role to local areas in the Eastern Region on behalf of CHaMP. She has also produced the regional guidance for Transition:  'Making it Happen'.

Her skill set includes highly developed communication skills (including BSL) enabling her to successfully engage with a wide range of people from Service Boards to Service Users.

Wendy is a member of BASW, and holds post graduate qualifications in both Social Work and Strategic Management; she is also a registered PRINCE2 and MSP practitioner
