Patrick started in the Health Service in 1984 and has significant experience in the field of mental health both as a clinician and manager, and more latterly in a service development role. He has an excellent track record in training/practice development, service development/improvement, project management and policy development at local, regional and national level.

Recent Projects working for the EDC include, Commissioning for Recovery in Mental Health 2009, Suicide Prevention assessment of PCTs in EOE 2009, Assessment of the training needs of maternity staff around depression 2009 and Patient Safety Mental health regional scoping Project 2009/10

Patrick has also provided project management for the Targeted Mental Health in Schools(TaMHS) project which includes 11 pathfinder sites in EOE which form part of a wider national programme and forms part of the regional CAMHS programme.

He has a broad contextual knowledge of modern day mental health services. His experience having been gained through being a clinician, manager, trainer and educator as well as the experience of working strategically with service providers and those who commission services. Patrick has also worked at a national policy level on a range of mental health policy groups.

With over 10 years experience of both developing and delivering tailored training programmes he delivered a training package for the Sainsbury Centre for mental health ranging from 1 to 10 days to over 100 Crisis Resolution / Home Treatment Teams in support of the implementation of the mental health National service Framework.

Patrick is a Registered Mental Nurse(RMN) with an MSc Mental Health Practice Development. He also has PRINCE2 and MSP Practitioner accreditation.
