The Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) was established in 2005 by the integration of a number of initiatives supporting the development of health and social care services.
CSIP is a partnership of four national programmes delivered through eight regional development centres. The RDCs and national programmes are jointly commissioned by the Department of Health and the Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs).
RDCs and national programmes work in three ways:
- to develop capacity and capability locally to achieve improvements in delivery;
- support policy implementation; and
- support the development of policy.
They work with communities, systems and organisations that are engaged with the health and social care needs of older people, people with mental health problems and learning disabilities, people in the criminal justice system and children, young people, their families and carers.
